Hong Kong Movie Stars II Special Stamps |
|
Hongkong Post issued the Hong Kong Movie Stars II special stamps on April 8,
2001. This is the second series of Hong Kong Movie Stars special stamps. The
first series, issued on November 15, 1995, featured four eminent movie stars,
namely, Bruce Lee, Leung Sing-bor, Yam Kim-fai and Lin Dai.
In this second series of Hong Kong Movie Stars, eight famous movie stars have
been paired up as they were often distinguished as ideal screen partners.
Moreover, to match the theme of this set of special stamps, specially-designed
double perforations are applied on the stamps. The inner curve-shaped
perforation gives an impression of viewing the actors and actresses being
depicted on the theatre screen. Four pairs of the ideal screen partners are:
$1.30 Ng Cho-fan (1911-1993) and Pak Yin (1920-1987)
$2.50 Sun Ma Si-tsang (1916-1997) and Tang Bik-wan (1926-1991)
$3.10 Cheung Wood-yau (1910-1985) and Wong Man-lei (1913-1998)
